Acclaimed Theater of War project will engage civilians, military personnel, and veterans through Sophocles tragedy, November 3, 2013, at the Chapel

Vassar will host the next Theater of War program on Sunday, November 3, 4:00-6:00pm in the Chapel, free to the public. This acclaimed project presents dramatic readings by top actors of the Greek tragedy Ajax to mixed military and civilian audiences, followed by panel and audience discussions on a variety of related social and psychological issues.

Vassar to host public education reform symposium, keynoted by distinguished social psychologist and education scholar Michelle Fine, on April 18 , 2013

In a climate where high stakes testing, accountability, and the privatization of public schooling are the dominant discourses surrounding educational reform in the United States, the Vassar Department of Education will hold a symposium that explores -- as a counter-narrative in educational reform -- the possibilities demonstrated by the small public schools movement in New York City.
